    August 25, 1938 - May 25, 2000

Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, May 30, 2000 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Decatur with High Priests, Dale Wolf and Dale Smith, officiating at 10:30 a.m. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur, NE with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Onawa, IA.

Richard E. Lesley, 61, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Decatur, NE, died Thursday, May 25, 2000 in Port Charlotte, FL.

Music at the service included "Amazing Grace" and "God Will Take Care of You" and was provided by Ethelyn Brewer and Mary Ann Bacon.  Pallbearers were:  Dustin Lesley, Chris Lesley, Justin Lesley, Cory Lesley, Chase Lesley, Tim Lesley and Larry Kellogg.

He was born August 25, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of John and Helene (Lewis) Lesley.  He was raised in Decatur and graduated from high school there.  He later worked in the computer industry in Omaha, Chicago, and San Jose, California,  before retiring in Port Charlotte.  He married Margaret J. Dwyer.

Survivors include his wife; Margaret "Peg" Lesley of Port Charlotte; his mother, Helene Lesley, of Decatur; three sons, Steven Lesley and his wife, Carla of Van Buren, Arkansas, Michael Lesley of Ashland, NE, and Lewis Lesley and his wife, Roberta of Omaha; a brother, Neal Lesley of Omaha and ten grandchildren.
