August 14, 1919----November 11, 2002

Funeral Mass will be held for Mark James Malloy on Thursday, November 14, 2002, 2 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church, in Decatur, NE with Rev Jim Kramper and Rev. Mike Malloy officiating.  Visitation will be held Wednesday 1-8 p.m. at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home at Tekamah, and on Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service.  Rosary will be said for Mr. Malloy on Wednesday evening, November 13, 7:30 p.m. at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, in Decatur.

Mark James Malloy passed away at Matney's Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, NE, on Monday, November 11, 2002 at the age of 83 years.

Special music for the services will be performed by Dot Connealy.  Casket bearers are Vincent Connealy, Kenneth Larsen, Darrel Anderson, Brent Malloy, Larry Connealy and Michael Connealy.  Johnnie M. Beard, Merle Farrens, Melvin Wildman, Emmett Connealy, Bob Baker, Georgia Redding, and Ron Harvey are the Honorary Casket Bearers.

Mark James Malloy was born on August 14, 1919, in Montrose, South Dakota, to Joseph John and Pauline Elizabeth (Connealy) Malloy.

The Malloys came to Burt County in 1934.  Mark attended rural Elm Creek School (District  #31) and Decatur High School.

On May 27, 1943, Mark and Anna Laura McHenry were united in marriage at Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur.  They farmed southwest of Decatur.  Mark was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur.

Survivors include his wife; Anna of Decatur; three sons and daughter-in-law: Pat and Cheryl Malloy of San Angelo, TX; Rev. Mike Malloy of Emerson, NE; Joe and Roberta Malloy of Decatur; daughter: Karen Malloy of Sioux City, IA; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters and brother-in-law: Marcella Connealy of Shawnee Mission, KS; Mary Jo Connealy of Decatur, and Elizabeth "Betty" and Al Buehre of Keizer, Or; and a sister-in-law: Dora McHenry of Sioux City, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
