Evarine Murphy Brewer (deceased)

October 1, 1937 - August 27, 1999

Evarine A. (Evie) Brewer, 61, of Logan, Iowa, died August 27, 1999, in Omaha.  Services were August 30 at Christian Church in Logan with Rev. Rusty Hedger officiating.  Organist was Vicki Koenig and vocalist was Rick Powell.

Casket bearers were Steve Dye, Jeff Murphy, Kelly Murphy, Greg Verbeek, Larry Murphy, Randy Andersen and Daryl Bartell.  Honorary bearers were Trent Kuhl, Gene Evans, Jerry Maguire, Larry McClanahan, John Mock, Paul Phelps, Dave McKee and Gordon Fliehe.  Burial was in the Logan Cemetery.

Evie was born October 1, 1937, in Decatur to Leo and Leota M. (Huffman) Murphy.  She graduated from Decatur High School.

June 14, 1959, she married Glenn Brewer at Decatur. She spend the last 23 years working for the Department of Human Services for the State of Iowa in Logan.

She was a member of the Christian Church and a die-hard Big Red Nebraska fan.  She enjoyed golfing and going to the casinos.

Her parents and infant brother preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of Logan; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Lonnie Muxfeldt of Harlan, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law Marty and Jamie Brewer of Logan; sisters, Maxine Bartell of Sacramento, CA, and Mary Andersen of Decatur; brother, Leonard Murphy of Big Flat, AK; and grandchildren, John Muxfeldt, Stephanie Armstrong, Kelsey Muxfeldt, Spencer Brewer, Samantha Brewer and Anthony Brewer.
